This is the cruise I have personally been waiting for - for several years - and we’ve finally put it together in the MOST perfect way. Believe it or not, the entire ship is already completely sold out, except for the staterooms that have been held for us (and held at the before-rate-increase cost, as well!) - so I am not exaggerating when I say that “reservations are limited.” I have written here as much as I can about the ship (every suite has a balcony, walk in closets and beautiful appointments - there are new restaurants, too) and the sensational itinerary - including, importantly, the number to call for more information, or to make your reservation. I hope you will join me! WHOM TO CALL: Sterling Travel 800-777-6540 http://sterlingtravelinc.com/melindalee3.html WHEN: May 26 - June 5, 2010 WHERE: We set sail from Reykjavik, Iceland for 10 fabulous days, ending our voyage in Southampton (London), England. The detailed itinerary is below. THE SHIP: The Regent Seven Seas Voyager is an impressive destination in itself. It is a small ship which, carries only 700 pampered passengers - and we’ll sail in elegant, relaxed surroundings, enjoying unsurpassed European service. There is a lovely spa with delightful, rejuvenating services, a fitness center, jogging track, golf nets, a computer center and wireless access throughout the ship, as well a duty-free boutique and assorted special events and interesting program options. (See below for evening entertainment options.) ACCOMODATIONS: Your stateroom will be a spacious, luxurious SUITE with a comfortable sitting area and its own private balcony over the sea. Choose from suites measuring 356 square feet to more than 1400 square feet, all with fine European linens, feather down duvets, fluffy robes and cotton slippers and twice-a-day housekeeping to ensure that your suite will always be your onboard haven of tranquility. In every suite, there is a walk-in closet, a marble appointed bath with a full, deep bathtub as well as a walk-in shower, interactive television, complimentary movies on demand - even a welcoming bottle of chilled Champagne and a selection of fresh fruit. The thoughtful, European-style service anticipates your every need - and all gratuities are included, so you’ll never have to give “tips” a thought - anywhere on the ship! DINING ONBOARD: There are four dining venues, in addition to the Pool Grill (which now has an outdoor pizza oven - how cool - and delicious - is that?). For sublime example, there is a floating restaurant called “Signatures” which operates under the auspices of the famed “Le Cordon Bleu” of Paris - and the food is truly magnificent! The new “Prime 7” Steakhouse, with its plush leather chairs and tasteful décor, showcases Prime, dry- aged steaks and seafood, as well as the finest lamb, pork and poultry - and “La Veranda” offers both indoor and al fresco dining for breakfast and lunch (and elaborate buffet) - as well as regional Mediterranean specialties for dinner. Of course the Compass Rose beautifully serves International foods of all kinds from its extensive and ever-changing menu. You dine where you choose, and the time of your choosing - and with whomever you choose (none of that “assigned seating” at specified hours business). Of course, there is also complimentary room service 24 hours a day. Evenings may be spent on your private balcony under the stars - or in the Show Lounge with live Production shows, the smaller music ensembles, the Nightclub with a DJ, or the lots-of-fun Casino. There is concert-quality music to enjoy throughout the ship and venues to captivate and enchant your evenings of entertainment. OUR PRIVATE PARTIES: We have planned several events “just for us” to share, in addition to those serendipitous get-togethers that just seem to happen as we travel. There will be a Welcome-Aboard Cocktail Party, a special private Brunch or Breakfast, a “Question and Answer” session (you may ask anything - behind the scenes, or practical questions - and with no commercial interruptions!) as well as a Farewell Cocktail Party at the end of our cruise. Expect a warm welcome, a lot of fun, and enjoyable times with others in our group. Remember that EVERYTHING IS INCLUDED FOR YOU - your choice of restaurants, room service, all that pampering, airfare - and unlimited shore excursions (an unheard-of perk that represents tremendous savings). PORTS OF CALL: Reykjavik: This is the capital of Iceland's and its main center of population, the city of Reykjavík is a fascinating mixture of the traditional and the very technically advanced. It is also the headquarters of what is probably the world's most advanced seafood industry - providing Iceland's number one export. I hear all the time that this is an exceptional “restaurant city!” Heimaey: Heimaey is the largest island in the Vestmannaeyjar cluster, approximately 4 nautical miles off the south coast of Iceland. Currently Vestmannaeyjar is the home to around two million puffins, and many millions of other birds. Torshavn: Torshavn is the capital and the largest town of the Faroe Islands. It is located in the southern part, on the east coast of Streymoy. The city was founded in the 10th century and may well be the oldest capital in Northern Europe. Kirkwall: Kirkwall is the largest town of the Orkney Islands and the capital of the Islands, off the coast of northern mainland Scotland. Kirkwall is one of the most attractive and well-preserved small towns in Scotland. Portree: Portree is the largest town on Skye in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. Portree has a harbor, fringed by cliffs, with a pier designed by Thomas Telford. Attractions in the town include the Aros Centre which celebrates the island's Gaelic heritage. Belfast: Belfast lies snuggled into the rugged coast of Northern Ireland where the River Lagan flows to the sea. Belfast is, of course, the capital of Northern Ireland - and was first settled in the early Middle Ages. Dublin: Dublin is the capital of Ireland, and the largest city in Ireland. Founded as a Viking settlement , the city is located at the mouth of the River Liffey and at the center of the Dublin Region. Waterford — Waterford City is the capital of the Sunny South East of Ireland. It was established in Viking times and it has an exciting medieval flavor and riverside bustle. There is excellent golfing, horseback riding, walking and water sports to be enjoyed here - and a dazzling coastline to be seen.. Cobh (Cork): Cork's history began in the 7th century with the founding of a monastery by St. Finbarr on a small alluvial (soil-deposited) island in the River Lee. The monastery and the settlement were later incorporated into the fortified base developed there by the Danes. Falmouth — Falmouth is a seaport on the River Fal. Falmouth is famous for its harbor. Together with Carrick Roads, it forms the third deepest natural harbor in the world, and the deepest in Western Europe. Southampton — Southampton is the largest city on the south coast of England. The city lies roughly in the center of the coast, at the northern-most point of Southampton Water where it is joined by the River Test and River Itchen with the River Hamble joining to the south of the urban area. There is, of course, a good deal more to know about each of these beautiful and picturesque ports of call - and shore excursions from which to choose. These are the “highlights” - more information will follow! Our Melinda Lee packages include: your lovely suite on the Voyager, your meals onboard at the restaurants of your choice, all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages onboard, our private parties, all tips and gratuities, as well as you airfare and unlimited shore excursions.
